Family Constellation is a powerful method for discerning the entanglements of links in your family of origin, or in your present family or in your current relationship. Solution-based interventions provide an ongoing understanding that can provide a relaxation that allows love to flow between members of the family system.
Systemic family constellations method was developed by the German therapist * Bert Hellinger. In this approach, the individual is considered to be part of a larger whole – a family or another system – rather than a separate entity.
The way we bring the hidden family dynamics to light is to have the client use the help of other group participants to create a constellation of his or her family. The participants representing members of that person’s family are positioned in the room in relation to each other according to the client’s feeling in that moment. In this way, we create a living model of their original (or present) family. What we have found is that the feelings and thoughts of the people representing family members are very similar to those of the actual family members..
The client can then also see the fundamental commitment that has allowed his ancestors and their descendants to transmit the life force. As soon as a person realizes that she is carried by – and carries within herself – the vital force (love), she can have the experience of allowing the obstacles that hinder her well-being to dissolve.
According to Bert Hellinger: « Family and systemic constellations are always and everywhere at the service of life, love and peace. «
This process usually takes place in a group, but it can also take place in an individual session. The facilitator then uses various objects or symbols to represent the position of the family members.
Family Constellations, which have become the hallmark of Hellinger’s approach, as well as his observations about systemic entanglement and resolution, have touched the lives of thousands of people of many people across the world.
Bert Hellinger has written 64 books. Translations of them are available in 25 languages. His work is documented in many CDs and DVDs.
